Microsoft pushed out the Windows 11 KB5095093 update this June, bringing new features and fixes to versions 25H2 and 24H2. The optional preview update is available through Windows Update or direct download, with installer sizes reaching over 5GB.
One of the biggest additions is point-in-time restore, which creates daily recovery snapshots so users can roll back apps, settings, and files. Enterprise users can adjust the frequency. Another useful change is the pause updates with calendar view, letting users pick a specific date to pause updates for up to 35 days.
Widgets also get a refresh. The board no longer opens on hover, runs faster, and shows less MSN clutter. Accessibility improves with Screen Tint, offering six preset colors and custom options beyond Night Light. Bluetooth pairing is smoother, especially for AirPods and Beats, with better call quality and bug fixes.
File Explorer performance is improved, with smoother OneDrive integration and a new “Ask Copilot” option. Other changes include expanded Secure Boot support, a modern Start menu, custom zoom for Magnifier, Windows Ready Print for printers, WSL networking improvements, and customizable touchpad right-click zones.
Shutdowns are faster, memory management is better for AI processes, and the taskbar is more reliable.
Microsoft flagged one critical issue: some Office apps may crash after installing KB5095093. The company is investigating.
