Apple pushes iOS, iPadOS, macOS 26.5.2 updates with urgent security fixes

Apple has released iOS 26.5.2, iPadOS 26.5.2, and macOS 26.5.2 with urgent security patches. The updates fix almost 30 vulnerabilities, most linked to WebKit, the browser engine used across Apple devices.

The rollout covers iPhones, iPads, and Macs, with Apple urging users to update right away. WebKit flaws are high risk since they affect all browsing, making devices open to attacks from malicious sites.

Apple’s notes are short, saying only that the update provides security fixes. No new features or visible changes are included. The focus is on closing critical gaps that could expose users to exploits.

Updating is simple. On iPhone and iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update. On Mac, head to System Settings. The update is available globally.

Apple is already testing iOS 27, expected later this year. That release will bring performance upgrades and new features, but for now, 26.5.2 is about plugging holes.
