Stolen iPhone 18 Pro supplier data leaked in Tata breach

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro supplier data was stolen in a ransomware attack on Tata Electronics, Apple’s key partner in India. According to Reuters, hackers posted over 200,000 files on the dark web, exposing sensitive supplier lists, component details, and photos of unreleased iPhone 18 Pro units.

The leaked documents show parts like chips, batteries, and cameras tied to suppliers. Photos also surfaced of iPhone 18 Pro units in drop tests at Tata’s plant earlier this year, confirming a slab-shaped design with three rear cameras.

Tata has become a key player in Apple’s move outside China, handling both assembly and parts supply. India is expected to produce 26 percent of iPhones in 2026, up from just 6 percent in 2022. The breach puts Apple’s supplier secrecy at risk and could give rivals and counterfeiters a closer look at its supply chain.

Apple is investigating the incident and working with Tata on tighter security. Tata has restricted internal access and hired a global consultant for a forensic audit.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected set to launch in September 2026, alongside Apple’s rumored first foldable.

The leak raises questions about trust and security in Apple’s expanding India operations, just months before its next flagship release.
