ChatGPT is now on Viber, bringing AI-powered tools to users on iOS and Android. The rollout adds new ways to write, translate, and edit messages directly inside the app.
Viber users can access ChatGPT through a dedicated tab or by tagging “@ChatGPT” in chats. The integration includes tools like Image Remix for photo editing, Link Summary for articles, and Chat Summary for busy conversations. It also offers Polish Message to refine tone and Translate Message for quick language support.
Most features work without a ChatGPT account, though logging in provides higher usage limits. Image Remix requires sign-in. Desktop support will follow later.
Privacy remains a focus. Viber confirmed that only the specific message or image tagged for ChatGPT is shared with OpenAI. Core messaging stays end-to-end encrypted, and full conversations are not exposed.
Executives from Rakuten Viber and OpenAI said the goal is to make communication easier and more creative for everyday users. ChatGPT responses appear visually distinct in chats, making it clear when AI is involved.
