X has relaunched its Android app after nearly a year of rebuilding, now available on Google Play. The rebuilt app addresses performance gaps compared to iOS, with the company forming a dedicated Android team to deliver the overhaul.
The new app promises faster loading, smoother scrolling, improved notifications, and stronger reliability. “It’s faster, smoother, and more reliable than the old version in every way. We modernized the foundation so everything just feels better: scrolling, loading, notifications, you name it,” their engineering team said in a post on X.
The rebuild also sets the stage for rapid feature development, which aims to expand engagement and functionality for Android users.
The relaunch is especially important for Android-dominant markets, where past reliability issues sometimes prevented posts from loading. Fixing these problems could attract more users and strengthen its global presence.
