Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max debut with the new A20 Pro chip. The new flagship phones bring massive upgrades to their cameras, processors, and overall battery performance.
The new 48MP Fusion Main camera adds variable aperture for the first time on an iPhone. It features six laser-cut blades that adjust automatically for lighting and depth of field.
You can also adjust four aperture settings manually in the Camera app using new Pro controls. A new sensor signs every pixel for Apple Reference Image, letting you check if photos were edited.
The A20 Pro chip powers both devices, using 2-nanometer process technology. It packs a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Memory bandwidth jumps by 50 percent compared to the older chip.
A redesigned vapor chamber delivers up to 40% higher sustained performance. The new N1 chip handles Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, while the C2 modem boosts cellular connections.
Battery life sees a big step up this year. The iPhone 18 Pro offers up to 34 hours of video playback. The Pro Max model gives you up to 43 hours. Both models support quick charging, getting to 50% power in just 15 minutes with a cable.
The Dynamic Island now displays three Live Activities at once. Both phones launch in black, silver, glacier, and burgundy colors. In the Philippines, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₱94,990 for 256GB storage, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at ₱99,990.
