Apple is preparing to launch the OLED iPad mini between late October and November 2026. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports the update will bring a new display, faster chip, and a redesigned camera placement.
The biggest change is the OLED screen, which offers deeper blacks and better contrast compared to the current LCD model. This upgrade is also expected to raise the price over the existing iPad mini, which already starts at USD 499 or PHP 42,990.
Apple is also expected to move the front camera to fit a landscape mode, making video calls more natural when the device is held horizontally. A faster processor will power the new model, though Apple has not yet confirmed which chip it will use.
According to Gurman, the launch may come through a press release instead of a full event. However, Apple is also rumored to be planning an October showcase for other products, including new Macs with M6 chips, updates to Apple TV and HomePod mini, and possibly a smart home hub with a built-in display.
