Just days after launch, iPhone Duo users report damaged screens on Apple’s first foldable phone. Some owners say cracks and display failures appeared on the inner screen after only a short period of normal use.
Reports posted online point to problems around the hinge area. Users shared photos showing cracked inner displays, bright vertical lines, dead pixels, and portions of the screen becoming unusable. In several cases, the damage appeared along the fold of the display.

One owner in Australia claimed the inner screen cracked after about six hours of ownership and fewer than 20 folds. The user reportedly heard a cracking sound while opening the device before a bright line appeared across the display. Apple later replaced the unit.
Similar reports have surfaced in multiple markets, including the United States, Australia, and China. Some users said the damage appeared shortly after setup, while others reported issues on demo units. It remains unclear how many devices are affected.
A few users were seen removing the protective layer from the inner display. Doing this can potentially damage a foldable screen, although there is no evidence linking it to the reported failures.
Apple has not issued an official statement on the reports. Affected customers appear to be receiving replacement units.

If you’re planning to buy an iPhone Duo, the reports are worth monitoring. For now, the number of known cases appears limited, and it’s still too early to tell whether the issue is isolated to a small batch of devices or part of a broader hardware problem.
The iPhone Duo is available for pre-orders in the Philippines. Pricing starts at ₱159,990. It will be available in stores and online from October 30.
