Samsung Android XR smart glasses are finally getting a release date. Samsung will open pre-orders for the wearable on November 12, with the first rollout set for the United States and South Korea.
The smart glasses are part of Samsung’s Android XR project with Google. They are built for AI-powered features and everyday use, offering a lighter and simpler experience than a full headset.
Unlike some AR glasses, Samsung’s first model does not have a built-in display. Instead, it uses cameras, microphones, and speakers, along with Google Gemini AI, to help users get information and complete tasks hands-free.
Samsung is also working with eyewear brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster for the frames. This gives buyers different styles to choose from when the device becomes available.
The smart glasses can help with voice-based AI requests, real-time translations, directions, and hands-free photo or video capture. Some AI processing is expected to work through a connected Galaxy smartphone.
Privacy is also a focus. Samsung has included a recording indicator light to show when the camera is in use. Reports also suggest the camera will stop working if the indicator is blocked.

Samsung has not revealed pricing yet. The company is expected to provide more details when pre-orders officially begin.
