Nintendo Switch Lite announced with USD199 price tag

Nintendo recently announced cheaper, portable Switch. The Nintendo Switch Lite, as they call it, comes in at a pocket friendly price of just USD 199. The new handheld focuses on portability — meaning no TV connection docks or wireless Joy-Con controllers.

The Switch Lite comes in yellow, grey and turquoise. It has a 5.5-inch 720p touch display with support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. One of its main draws is that you can still use the original Switch’s accessories with the Lite including the Joy-Con controllers, the Pro Controller, and the Poke Ball Plus.

Nintendo says that there is no difference between the Lite and the original Switch in terms of performance. Almost all of the games should work with this except those that need special features like the HD rumble, IR sensors, and motion controls.

The Nintendo Switch Lite will launch on September 20, 2019 with a price of USD 199.99. That’s roughly PHP 10,300, which is less than half the price of the original when it launched.
