TL;DR: Smart extends partnership with MemoXpress with MX Line program.

Smart Communications is reinforcing its partnership with one of its biggest device chain partners, MemoXpress, through the launch of the MX Line program.

Under this collaboration, MX Line will carry products and devices powered by Smart, the wireless unit of the country’s largest integrated telco PLDT, to reach even more Filipinos through their physical shops nationwide and online portals.

“We have faced a lot of challenges last year. Most of our stores were closed at some point due to the quarantine restrictions. We had to quickly adapt to changes in the environment in order to overcome obstacles in retail operations and continue to serve our customers,” said Alex Caeg, Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Sales Group at PLDT and Smart.

“Notwithstanding the health crisis, we are pleased to say that we continued to implement appropriate distribution strategies, expanded our network, and thought of innovative ways to set the bar high to help improve the lives of our customers, thanks to our partnership with MemoXpress,” he added.

The MX Line partnership also offers the Ka-MX Negosyo Kit for retailers and other exciting digital content for consumers.

“This marks a milestone for all of us at MemoXpress, to tie up with the largest telecommunication company here in the Philippines, Smart. I am thankful for the continuous support. Let us keep going and aim high,” said Edward Tan, Vice President for Operations at MemoXpress.

These initiatives to expand PLDT and Smart’s retail footprint support PLDT’s sustained investments, which totaled some Php 286.3 billion from 2016 to 2020. PLDT and Smart are prepared to invest between Php 88 billion and Php 92 billion in capital expenditures in 2021.
