Not that long ago, Verbatim was known for floppy disks and other storage peripherals. The company has since expanded its product line to include TWS earbuds.
Today, we are going to take a look at two of those TWS models from Verbatim — the Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 TWS Earbuds and the Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 Flat TWS Earbuds. They are affordable devices that pair good sound quality with long usage times.
Each pair offers something different from the other. But it’s hard not to give these a look, considering the value they have in relation to their price tags. Let’s take a closer look.
Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 TWS Earbuds
The Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 TWS Earbuds feature a unique teardrop design with sleek curves and a small profile. It connects via Bluetooth 5, comes with touch controls (including volume), and offers hi-fi sound quality in a waterproof IPX6 body.
The earbuds are small with each piece weighing around 3.95 grams. When worn, it slightly sticks out of your ears, but it does offer a very comfortable fit.
The charging case also has a unique appearance with a disc-like design that twists open to reveal the earbuds. Its small and flat build makes it an easy fit on any pocket. It has a micro USB charging port and an LED display that conveniently tells how much power is left.
Sound Quality
I couldn’t find any information about what drivers were used on these. But it has a frequency range of 20Hz to 20KHz and a max power output of 5mW.
Given the price, sound quality is pretty decent with good clarity and a wide soundstage. It has a rumbling bass which many will no doubt enjoy. One thing that I noticed is that these earbuds are bright, which means it puts emphasis on high notes. In some songs, highs become slightly piercing and sibilant. It’s not that bad, but if you’re sensitive to it, it might bother you.

Noise isolation is average. It could be a good thing, depending on where you are, so keep that in mind when you’re out and about.
Battery Life
For such tiny earbuds, these offer exceptional battery life. Verbatim said you can get up to 6 hours out of a single charge. I managed over 5 hours, which is pretty close. I’d imagine it’s more than enough for a good run or a morning commute.
The case has an 800mAh battery, which can charge the earbuds up to 6 more times. It takes an hour and a half to fully charge via the micro USB port.
Verdict
For Php 2,850, the Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 TWS earbuds are a good sounding pair that offers up to 6 hours of use. It has a small build with a simple teardrop design that won’t attract attention.
If you are looking for inconspicuous TWS for long commutes, then this should be on your radar.

Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 Flat TWS Earbuds
The Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 Flat TWS Earbuds come with a flat design and a stem, akin to the first-generation AirPods. It has a soft-touch finish that feels smooth. This one also connects via Bluetooth 5 for a strong and stable connection with touch for controls.
The charging case has a rectangular design with the same finish. Its curved edges and thin profile mean it can fit most pockets. It has LED lights at the front to tell you how much battery is left and a USB-C port at the back for charging.
Sound Quality
As the name implies, the Flat TWS Earbuds have a stem design with a flat hard-tip head. It offers almost no noise isolation, but you won’t get that stuffed feeling in your ears as you do on in-ears, and the fit is less of an issue.
With the design, these are very comfortable to wear. It’s light at 4 grams per earbud, and it sits snug in your ears rather than jammed in.
Sound quality is good and clear, but you won’t get as much bass because of its open design. Sound stage is decent and it does get airy. You do get a bit of reverb, though, but it’s not that noticeable.

Like Verbatim’s in-ears (above), these are also bight. It also suffers from piercing highs and sibilance on some songs. Again, it’s not that bad and some actually prefer it.
Battery Life
On a single charge, you can get up to four hours of use. If played with higher volumes, it will expectedly become lower. But that’s good enough for a morning commute. The charging case provides an additional four extra charges.
Verdict
If you prefer hard tip earphones with a stem design, the Verbatim Bluetooth 5.0 Flat TWS Earbuds are a great option. It’s affordable at Php 890 and offers good sound that’s hard to find in this price range.
