LTO extends driver’s license validity and car registration for one month

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is extending the validity of driver’s licenses and car registration for one month.

The decision was made to give consideration to those affected by Super Typhoon Karding that recently battered the country, and to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the LTO, driver’s licenses, student permits, conductor’s licenses, and medical certificates that will expire in August and September will be extended until October 31, 2022.

Meanwhile, the registration of vehicles with plate numbers ending in 8 is extended to October 31, 2022.

This means you can renew your licenses and car registration anytime until the new expiry date. But it might still be better to renew early to prevent the rush in October.

Both announcements were posted on LTO’s official Facebook page.
