The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is giving drivers a break. For the next three months, you can renew your license or car registration without worrying about penalties.
This covers driver’s licenses, student permits, conductor permits, and vehicle registrations that expire starting this month.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) ordered the move to ease the burden on public utility drivers, operators, and commuters.
The decision comes as part of wider government efforts to lessen the impact of the Middle East crisis, which has driven fuel prices higher and disrupted supply chains.
By waiving penalties, LTO hopes to give motorists some breathing room while keeping transport services running smoothly.

Motorists are advised to use this three-month window to renew their license and registration documents. The LTO clarified that this is only temporary, so once the period ends, regular penalties will apply again.
