Are you having issues with registering your SIM cards? Well, don’t fret. SIM card registration assistance services will soon be available in telco service and retail centers, said the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
SIM card registration opened in the Philippines on December 27, 2022, prompting users of over 160 million SIM cards to register in their respective telcos. During the first couple of days, subscribers were met with various problems and other difficulties. The NTC calls on the telcos to do something about the issue.
“Yung mga assisted registration po, pwede sila magpunta — mga registering subscribers —pupunta sa mga stores o branches ng mga telcos. May mga personnel sila doon na pwede pong tumulong sa mga kababayan na gusto po magparehistro,” said Jon Paulo Salvahan, NTC Deputy Commissioner.
Meanwhile, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) recently launched a 24/7 complaint center where you can report issues and concerns related to SIM card registration. You can call the hotline by dialing 1326.
SIM card owners are reminded that they have up to 180 days from the date of the SIM Card Registration Act’s effectivity to register their SIM cards.
