Gameboy and Gameboy Advance games are now available on the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has added select Gameboy and Gameboy Advance games for the Nintendo Switch console. It is available to Nintendo Switch Online members, along with classic NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64 games.

To start, members can go to the Nintendo eShop to download and install the expansion packs. Players can choose from Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and Game Boy Color screen styles to play the available games for some retro flair.

Games can be played offline, and includes suspend points for each game to allow players to save their progress. Some of the games can also be played with other players via an online or local wireless connection.

Nintendo Switch Online is a paid subscription service for the Nintendo Switch. Members can play games online with friends and access a collection of classic Nintendo games, such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight, and Dr. Mario. Some games, such as Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, require a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play online.

In addition to online play, a Nintendo Switch Online membership also includes access to cloud saves, which allow members to back up their game data to the cloud and restore it if they ever lose data.
