Live-action Legend of Zelda movie gets release date and title

Nintendo has officially revealed that the live-action Legend of Zelda movie gets release date and title confirmation for theaters on April 30, 2027. The upcoming film will have the simple title The Legend of Zelda and will feature an original story.

Director Wes Ball will lead the project for Sony Pictures Releasing. Instead of copying a specific game like Breath of the Wild, the film uses original ideas built from 40 years of franchise history. You can expect the iconic Triforce to play a major role in the main plot.

Benjamin Evan Ainsworth plays Link alongside Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda. Uli Latukefu joins the cast as Ganondorf, and Dichen Lachman plays Impa. The cast also includes Yvonne Strahovski, Sam Neill, and Lydia Peckham.
