The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary: Ocarina of Time returns on Switch 2

Nintendo is celebrating The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary with a remake of Ocarina of Time, set to launch on November 5, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2. The updated version comes with new visuals, full voice acting, orchestral music, better controls, and dynamic camera movement. First print copies will ship with foil packaging.

On October 29, Nintendo will release a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2, along with a Pro Controller, carrying case, and screen protector featuring the Triforce design. Playable and electric ocarinas will also roll out later this year.

Amiibo collectors can look forward to Young Link and Young Zelda figures in 2027, which unlock retro-style masks. Mineru’s Construct amiibo for Tears of the Kingdom arrives earlier on September 17. Nintendo is also expanding support for Ocarina of Time through the ZELDA NOTES service, offering hint-based quests, a virtual ocarina, daily quizzes, and progress tracking.

The celebration goes past games. A concert tour will run in 2027 with shows in Tokyo, Chicago, London, and Melbourne. The Nintendo Museum in Kyoto will feature special ticket designs, photo spots, and the opening of the Super Family Restaurant. Collaborations include a LEGO Ocarina of Time Link & Epona set and Hasbro’s Electronic Master Sword, both coming in spring 2027.
