After the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) revealed its first-ever Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) summer edition, the agency announced eight official entries for the film festival.
The eight were chosen from a record high of 33 film submissions, which included resubmissions from the December 2022 film festival.

The Summer MMFF will run from April 8 to 18, in all cinemas nationwide, in partnership with the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP).
The Parade of Stars will be held in Quezon City on April 2, while the Awards Night will happen on April 11 in the New Frontier Theater.
Proceeds from the film fest will go to a number of beneficiaries in the film industry including the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation Inc., the Motion Picture and Anti-Film Piracy Council, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and the Optical Media Board.
