Apple introduces new 15-inch MacBook Air at WWDC 2023

Apple claims that this is the world's thinnest 15-inch laptop.

Apple unveiled a new addition to its MacBook Air lineup: a 15-inch model that is the largest and thinnest of its kind. The new laptop was announced at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday, June 5, 2023.

The 15-inch MacBook Air features a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone, a resolution of 2880×1864 pixels, and 500 nits of brightness. It is powered by Apple’s M2 chip, which has an eight-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core neural engine. The M2 chip delivers up to 12 times faster performance than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air models, according to Apple.

It has a fanless design that keeps it quiet and cool, and it comes with a MagSafe 3 charging connector that snaps magnetically to the laptop.

The 15-inch MacBook Air is available in four colors: midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray. It weighs 3.3 lbs and is 11.5mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest 15-inch laptop, according to Apple. It runs on macOS Ventura now and will be compatible with macOS Sonoma when it launches this fall.
