Apple unveiled a new addition to its MacBook Air lineup: a 15-inch model that is the largest and thinnest of its kind. The new laptop was announced at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday, June 5, 2023.
The 15-inch MacBook Air features a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone, a resolution of 2880×1864 pixels, and 500 nits of brightness. It is powered by Apple’s M2 chip, which has an eight-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core neural engine. The M2 chip delivers up to 12 times faster performance than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air models, according to Apple.

The new laptop also boasts up to 18 hours of battery life, a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, three microphones with advanced beamforming algorithms, and two USB-C Thunderbolt ports that support up to a 6K external display at 60Hz. It has a fanless design that keeps it quiet and cool, and it comes with a MagSafe 3 charging connector that snaps magnetically to the laptop.
The 15-inch MacBook Air is available in four colors: midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray. It weighs 3.3 lbs and is 11.5mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest 15-inch laptop, according to Apple. It runs on macOS Ventura now and will be compatible with macOS Sonoma when it launches this fall.

In the Philippines, the new laptop starts at ₱82,990 for the 8GB+256GB base model and can be configured to up to 24GB+2TB for a whopping ₱154,990. It can be ordered on apple.com/ph/shop or in the Apple Partner Stores.
