PLDT Global’s TINBO wins Gawad kalinga award

PLDT Global’s TINBO , the one-stop digital gateway that offers various services to Filipinos overseas, recently received an award for its innovative health app that connects overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families in the Philippines.

The app, powered by PLDT Global Corporation (PLDT Global), was named the Most Innovative Health App for OFWs by the Gawad Galing Global Award of Excellence in Nursing. The award recognizes TINBO’s efforts to promote health and wellness, and provide quality healthcare services to the families of OFWs in the Philippines.

TINBO, which stands for Tindahan ni Bossing, allows OFWs to access and send digital services to their loved ones back home, such as telemedicine, medicines, vitamins, food, school supplies, and more. Through TINBO, OFWs can be the “Bossing of Alaga” when it comes to taking care of their family’s healthcare needs.

“This recognition is proof of TINBO’s commitment to empower Filipinos around the world to be the ‘Bossing of Alaga’ when it comes to providing for their family’s healthcare needs,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO at PLDT Global.

Gawad Galing is a global award of excellence given by Toprank Review Academy to professionals who have demonstrated excellence in healthcare. It also honors non-healthcare professionals and groups that have contributed to the advancement of the Philippine healthcare sector.

One of TINBO’s key features is its partnership with mWell, the Philippines’ healthcare mega app, which delivers affordable telemedicine subscription plans with free accident insurance tailored for families of OFWs. Through TINBO, OFWs can purchase and send mWell health passes as vouchers to their families, which they can use to consult online with thousands of Filipino-speaking doctors via the mWell app.

“The TINBO platform and PLDT Global have enabled us to bring healthcare closer to our fellow Filipinos abroad. As the only healthcare app available globally, mWell allows our kababayans to conveniently consult online with Pinoy doctors who speak their language and can provide the medical advice that they need right away. Filipino migrant workers can also share the gift of health to their families back home through affordable health passes which they may send as a gift. With the mWell app’s wellness features, our migrant workers can take control of their health empowering them to become healthier and more productive,” said Chaye Cabal-Revilla, mWell CEO and President and MPIC Chief Finance, Risk, and Sustainability Officer.

Another feature of TINBO is its Gamot Padala option, which enables OFWs to order select prescription drugs and vitamins from Beam&Go as fulfillment partner, and have them delivered directly to their family’s home or to their preferred pick-up locations across the Philippines.

TINBO also offers Eskwela Padala and Food Padala options, which allow OFWs to send school supplies and meals to their loved ones from select partners and locations nationwide.

TINBO is another innovation that contributes to the overall PLDT Group commitment to create digital solutions and collaborate with partners, to enhance customer experience wherever they are in the world.
