Gemini Live is now available to all users for free

Google has announced that its Gemini Live assistant is now available to all users free of charge. Previously limited to Gemini Advanced subscribers, this feature was introduced alongside the Pixel 9 series.

Gemini Live offers a more fluid and intuitive AI assistant experience, compared to its standard counterpart. Its conversational capabilities enable more natural interaction with human-sounding speech patterns that sound less like a robot.

Here’s how to use Gemini Live:

  1. Download the Gemini app and make sure you have the latest version installed on your Android device.
  2. Open the app, then tap on the “Live” button or icon (which looks like a waveform) to start a voice conversation.
  3. Start engaging in a conversation. Speak naturally. You can ask questions, make requests, or engage in general dialogue.

The AI assistant will then respond to your voice prompts, maintaining a seamless flow of communication. It also has different voice options and allows pauses and interruptions that make it sound like a real conversation.

For now, Gemini Live is only available on Android in English. Expect to see the feature on iOS soon.
