DICT partners with Google and Coursera for IT certification program

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has partnered with Google and Coursera to launch the Google Career Certificate Program (GCCP). The GCCP is an initiative aimed at equipping Filipinos with in-demand IT skills, addressing the increasing demand for IT professionals both locally and internationally.

Launched during the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2024 in October 2024, the program will offer a comprehensive curriculum encompassing key areas such as cybersecurity, data analytics, IT support, and project management.

Recognizing the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the program also integrates Google AI Essentials, a specialized course designed to enhance productivity through the effective use of generative AI tools.

Initially, the GCCP will prioritize those who stand to benefit most from this opportunity, including unemployed individuals, university students, disadvantaged groups, employees of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and government workers. This targeted approach ensures that the program benefits a diverse range of individuals and contributes to the overall development of the Philippine ICT sector.

For more information on the GCCP, including enrollment procedures and program details, visit the official social media pages of the DICT and the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau.
