Nintendo Switch 2 is coming to the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand on June 26

Nintendo is set to release its next-generation Switch 2 in the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. While the global launch is on June 5, 2025, Southeast Asian gamers can expect the console to arrive on June 26.

Better Display and Faster Performance

The Switch 2 comes with a 7.9-inch LCD screen that offers 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother gameplay. The console has two USB-C ports for charging and accessories. It’s new dock supports 4K resolution, HDR, and VRR, making games look even better on supported TVs.

Performance has been upgraded with faster processing and shorter loading times. It also comes with 256GB of storage, which is eight times more than the original Switch. However, it will only support microSD Express cards, meaning older microSD cards won’t work.

Improved Joy-Con Controllers

The new Joy-Con 2 controllers now attach magnetically for a more secure grip. Nintendo has improved its durability and responsiveness, while keeping the motion controls players love. These controllers have larger SL/SR buttons, bigger control sticks, and a new mouse mode for certain games.

A new C button lets players use GameChat, which enables voice and video chat during online games. This feature works with the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera (sold separately), allowing players to video chat while gaming.

Pricing and Availability

The official price in the Philippines has yet to be announced, but in other regions, the Switch 2 costs $449.99 (₱25,900). A Mario Kart World bundle will also be available for $499.99 (₱27,900). Stay tuned for further updates.
