GCash will begin using InstaPay for all direct cash-in transactions starting October 1, 2025. This update follows a directive from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), which mandates online banks and e-wallets to adopt InstaPay for faster and more secure fund transfers.

InstaPay is a real-time electronic payment system that allows users to send money between banks and e-wallets. With this, GCash users can expect faster processing times when adding funds to their accounts.
GCash clarified that it will not charge fees for direct cash-ins under the new system. However, partner banks may impose their own service fees depending on their policies. Users are advised to check with their respective banks for any updates.
This change affects only direct cash-ins. Other GCash services remain unchanged.
Notably, BPI will charge ₱15 for InstaPay cash-ins but only ₱10 for InstaPay transfers to GCash.
