Smart rolls out ViLTE video calling

The new feature only works with supported phones.

Smart Communications has launched Video over LTE (ViLTE), allowing subscribers to make video calls without using third-party apps. The feature is available to Smart and TNT users with ViLTE-capable devices and works over LTE, 5G, or Wi-Fi.

ViLTE calls are charged under your voice subscription. So if you’re on Unli 5G+, PowerAll, or SurfSaya, you can make video calls without any extra fees. The receiver doesn’t need a promo, as long as you have an active one.

ViLTE offers clearer and more stable video calls. It’s also more battery-efficient than app-based calls and supports multitasking. Users can browse or stream while on a call.

The rollout builds on Smart’s earlier VoLTE launch, backed by its expanding 4G and 5G network.

To use ViLTE, subscribers must enable VoLTE and ViLTE in their phone settings. Both parties need compatible devices and must be within coverage. Supported brands include Samsung, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and HONOR.
