The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is warning motorists about a fake Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal spreading online. The agency said the site is part of a phishing scam that uses text messages to trick people. These messages claim traffic violations and include links that lead to the fake portal.
LTO stressed that it does not send violation notices through text messages with links. Motorists are advised to use only official platforms: the LTMS portal, the LTO website, and the verified LTO Facebook page.
The agency also urged the public not to click suspicious links and to report them right away. Reports can be sent to AksyON THE SPOT at +63 929 292 0865.
Phishing scams often copy government services to steal personal information. In this case, scammers are trying to collect driver’s license details and other sensitive data.
