You now have free Wi-Fi in 17 EDSA Busway stations

Commuters along EDSA can now connect to free Wi-Fi in 17 Busway stations. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), together with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), rolled out the service to make travel more convenient and support cashless payments.

At the time of writing, the stations covered are Balintawak, Kaingin Road, Roosevelt, SM North EDSA, North Avenue, Philam, Quezon Avenue, Kamuning, Nepa Q-Mart, Main Avenue, Ortigas, Buendia, Ayala, Tramo, Taft Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, and SM Mall of Asia.

For now, the free Wi-Fi is best used for e-wallet transactions, messaging, emails, and browsing. Bandwidth is limited, but fiber upgrades are expected by March. Once installed, commuters can expect faster speeds and video streaming.

The project complements the GCash payment system recently introduced for the busway. With free Wi-Fi, passengers can pay fares without relying on mobile data.

This follows last year’s rollout of free Wi-Fi in all MRT-3 stations, which also aimed to support e-payments and improve passenger experience. In 2025, the EDSA Busway served over 66.7M passengers.
