Spotify debuts Page Match, linking audiobooks with physical books

Spotify launches Page Match, a new feature that connects audiobooks with physical books and e-books. With this, readers can scan a page using the Spotify app to sync their place in the audiobook or digital text.

The feature will roll out by the end of February 2026 on iOS and Android, covering most English-language titles.

According to Spotify, Page Match will make reading more flexible and accessible. Physical books still dominate the market, accounting for about 73 percent of publishing revenue last year. Linking audio and print will give readers more options on how they enjoy stories.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Open the Spotify mobile app and find the title you’re reading.
  2. Tap the Page Match button.
  3. Use your camera to scan a page in your physical book.
  4. Spotify finds your spot in the audiobook.

The company also revealed a partnership with Bookshop.org in the US and UK. This will allow Spotify users to buy physical books directly through the app, with sales supporting independent bookstores and authors.

What do you think of Spotify’s new Page Match feature? Is this something you would use? Stay tuned for updates.
