Spotify adds offline lyrics, translations, and previews

Spotify is expanding its lyrics feature with three major updates that make listening more convenient.

The first is lyric translations. Introduced in 2022, the feature is now available worldwide. Both free and premium users can access translations by tapping a new icon in the lyrics section. The app will display translated text based on the device’s language settings, if available.

Spotify is also adding lyric previews. This feature places a condensed lyrics box between the song title and album art, giving listeners a quick look at the words without opening the full-screen view. The previews are available worldwide to all users.

Finally, offline lyrics are coming to premium subscribers. When tracks are downloaded, their lyrics will now be saved as well. This means users can read along even without an internet connection.

Translations and previews are free for everyone, while offline lyrics add value to the premium subscription. The rollout is global, so expect to see the updates in your app soon.
