Spotify has added a new feature called About the Song. It gives listeners more context about the music they’re hearing.
The feature is currently in beta and appears in the Now Playing View. Users can swipe through short story cards that explain the background of selected songs. The stories come from third-party summaries, giving users behind-the-scenes details without leaving the app.
About the Song is currently in beta. It’s available in English for Premium subscribers in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. To access it, open Now Playing View and scroll down to find the card when listening to supported tracks.
The company is also inviting feedback from both artists and listeners to improve the experience.
