MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max debuts: PH prices announced

Apple has announced the latest MacBook Pro models powered by the new M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The update brings faster performance, stronger AI capabilities, and improved graphics, making it one of the most powerful laptops in Apple’s lineup. Philippine prices have also been confirmed, with local availability coming soon.

MacBook Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max

The new MacBook Pro comes in 14‑inch and 16‑inch sizes, featuring Liquid Retina XDR displays with up to 1600 nits of HDR brightness and support for a billion colors.

A nano‑texture glass option is also available. The design remains sleek and durable, offered in space black and silver.

At the core are the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The M5 Pro supports up to 64GB of unified memory with 307GB/s bandwidth, while the M5 Max goes up to 128GB with 614GB/s bandwidth.

Both chips feature Neural Accelerators in every core, delivering up to four times faster AI performance compared to the previous generation. Graphics are also up to 50 percent faster, with real‑time ray tracing for gaming and 3D rendering.

Apple Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max chips

Storage starts at 1TB for the M5 Pro and 2TB for the M5 Max, with SSD speeds reaching 14.5GB/s. Battery life is rated at up to 24 hours, with fast charging that reaches 50 percent in 30 minutes.

Connectivity includes Thunderbolt 5, HDMI with support for up to 8K displays, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3, Wi‑Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.

The MacBook Pro runs macOS Tahoe, which adds Apple Intelligence for AI‑powered tools like translation, reminders, and shortcuts. It also supports continuity features such as iPhone Mirroring and the Phone app on Mac.

Price in the Philippines

MacBook Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max

In the Philippines, the 14‑inch MacBook Pro M5 Pro starts at ₱149,990 (₱139,990 for education), while the 16‑inch model costs ₱179,990 (₱166,990 for education).

The 14‑inch MacBook Pro M5 Max is priced at ₱239,990 (₱219,990 for education), and the 16‑inch version at ₱259,990 (₱239,990 for education). The base 14‑inch MacBook Pro M5 is also available at ₱109,990 (₱103,990 for education).

The M5 Pro and M5 Max models will be available soon in local Apple stores and authorized resellers.
