Globe ready to comply with NTC directive to block Roblox if ordered

Globe Telecom said that it is ready to support government agencies following the National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) directive to block the gaming platform Roblox, if required.

In a statement, Globe said it will cooperate fully with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the NTC, and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) in efforts to safeguard children online.

The company is fully committed to protecting young users from risks linked to Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM).

Globe explained that it is ready to implement technical filters against Roblox-related links, APIs, and IP addresses once the directive is enforced.

The CICC is set to hold a high-level summit on March 31, 2026, bringing together government agencies, educators, parents, and advocates to form a unified stance on child safety.

This will be followed by formal talks with Roblox Corporation scheduled for April 7 to 9, 2026, after the agency warned that Roblox’s current safeguards are not enough to protect minors from online predators.

Originally, the CICC planned a nationwide ban on Roblox earlier, but this has been pushed back to April 10, 2026, pending discussions with the platform.
