List of Macs that support macOS 27 Golden Gate

Apple has confirmed the official list of devices that can run macOS 27 Golden Gate. The update drops support for Intel Macs, making it exclusive to Apple silicon models.

Here are the supported devices:

  • MacBook Neo (2026)
  • MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • iMac with Apple silicon (2021 and later)
  • Mac mini with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022 and later)
  • Mac Pro with Apple silicon (2023)

This means older Intel‑based Macs are officially left behind. Golden Gate requires Apple silicon to take advantage of these new features, and some advanced AI tools will only work on Macs with M3 or newer chips and at least 12GB of RAM.

Golden Gate introduces a standalone Siri app powered by Apple Intelligence, with features like personal context, app integration, and Visual Intelligence for screen recognition.

Spotlight also gets a refreshed interface with type‑to‑Siri support. On the design side, Apple refined the Liquid Glass UI with a slider for transparency, consistent window shapes, and cleaner sidebars. Other improvements include faster AirDrop, quicker file browsing, speedier Safari, and support for 5K/120Hz ultrawide monitors.
