Apple may finally be working on a touchscreen MacBook. A known China-based leaker, Instant Digital, says the device is “100% confirmed,” hinting that design and production are already set.
Analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier pointed to late 2026 as the target release. Reports suggest the model could be a MacBook Pro or MacBook Ultra, launching with Apple’s upcoming M6 processors.
This would be the first MacBook to feature both an OLED display and touchscreen support. Another expected change is the notch being replaced with a Dynamic Island, similar to what we see on iPhones.
On the software side, the laptop is expected to ship with macOS 27 Golden Gate. Apple is said to be adding touch-friendly features like “swipe down to refresh” in apps and expanded Sidecar support, allowing direct interaction with menus and windows.

For years, Apple resisted adding touchscreens to Macs, focusing instead on trackpads and keyboards. But with leaks pointing to production readiness, the long-debated touchscreen MacBook may finally be coming.
