Roblox has agreed to new child safety measures with the Philippine government and will open a local office this October. The deal comes after talks with agencies to improve online safety for kids.
The company will use the National ID system for account checks, add stricter chat rules, and roll out AI-based age verification. Accounts without proper ID will have limited access. Roblox will also assign a local officer to work directly with regulators.
Meta joined the talks, promising stronger parental controls, faster removal of harmful posts, and closer work with law enforcement. Both platforms agreed to tighter rules on age checks and communication limits to protect young users.
Roblox’s new office in the Philippines will handle compliance and direct coordination with the government. The company said this will help enforce safety rules and respond faster to local concerns.
