Qualcomm might add DirectX 12 support to its flagship Snapdragon chips, which could improve PC game emulation on Android devices.
A Chinese YouTuber reportedly tested the feature on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 reference device. The demo showed Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong running through a DirectX 12 translation layer. This might mean Qualcomm is working on making high-end PC titles playable on mobile hardware.
It is not clear if DirectX 12 support will roll out to other Snapdragon chips or if it will be available through driver updates. Implementation could depend on smartphone makers, which means availability could vary across devices. Qualcomm has not yet confirmed it.
