Apple has responded to reports of display issues affecting the iPhone Duo. In a statement to 9to5Mac, the company said it is aware of the problem and that only a small number of devices are affected.
The issue involves the foldable phone’s inner display. Some users reported seeing cracks along the fold after opening the device. Others said they felt resistance when opening the hinge, followed by a popping sound before the screen was damaged.

For customers experiencing the issue, Apple said to contact AppleCare for support. The company said affected units are eligible for replacement, including some devices that are not covered by AppleCare+. Those who bought the phone through a carrier are advised to contact AppleCare directly.
So far, Apple has not explained what is causing the display problem. The company did not say whether the hinge is involved, and it has not shared any technical details about the issue.
Reports of cracked displays started appearing on online forums and social media. The company’s response is a typical early statement from Apple. Instead of discussing possible causes, the company just focused on reassuring customers and pointing affected users to AppleCare for help and replacement options.
