5 reasons why the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G is the midrange phone for you

Huawei recently launched the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G in the Philippines. With a price tag of PHP 19,990 PHP 17,999, the phone is a “bang-for-buck” mid-ranger that offers all the good things that Huawei brings, including 5G connectivity.

The nova 7 SE 5G could not have come at a better time. Both Smart and Globe have launched their 5G networks, and the only way for you to be a part of this is with a 5G capable smartphone. You don’t even need to change you’re SIM cards.

If you’re in the market for one, well, we’re here to convince you that the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G is all you need. Here are 5 reason why this is the mid-range phone for you.

Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G Top Features

1. The affordable price

Right off the bat, we start with the price. I know some might scoff at this but hear me out. For PHP 17,999, the Nova 7 SE 5G is one of the most affordable 5G smartphones thus far.

But the value does not stop there.

The phone has what most people look for in a value device. The Nova 7 SE 5G is a beautifully device, featuring a clean, modern and youthful design. It has a plastic build, but it does not take away how good it feels in the hand.

The Nova 7 SE 5G comes in three colors. If you’re into bold and modern looks, then we suggest you opt for Midsummer Purple or Crush Green colorways. If you want it more subdued and elegant, then Space Silver is your option.

Aside from the looks, the midrange phone has more to offer, some we’ve included in this top 5 list.

2. The wide display

One of the more, if not the most important part of a phone is the screen. Of course, it is, given the fact that this is what we use the most to interact with the device, let alone consume media. And thankfully, the Nova 7 SE 5G has one of the better ones in the midrange space.

The handset has a 6.5-inch full HD+ display with a wide 20:9 aspect ratio. It is bright and has good colors and contrast. For an IPS panel, it has good blacks as well.

The screen is wide with thin bezels and a punch hole cutout. It has a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio, that not only gives you an almost all-display front, but also an immersive viewing experience to watch movies and play games.

3. The 5G chipset

The Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G is the first 5G smartphone for the youth with a Kirin 820 chipset. It is build using a 7nm process with four Cortex-A76 performance cores and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The chip also has a 6-core Mali-G57 GPU, said to be 38% faster and 39% more efficient that the previous generation. On top of that, there’s fast 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and a speedy 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

Apps load fast and it can play most popular games for phones without breaking a sweat, such as Call of Duty Mobile, Fortnite, and Mobile Legends.

The Kirin 820 chip also includes an NPU that enables more powerful AI computing for gaming, photo and video shooting.

And as previously mentioned, the Kirin 820 is future ready, equipped with a 5G modem that supports standalone (SA) and non-standalone 5G networks, compatible with both Smart and Globe.

4. The five cameras

For those who love taking photos (and sharing them on social media), the Nova 7 SE 5G has 5 cameras in total. These work together to provide you with a lot of shooting options for almost any situation.

At the back, you have a quad camera setup complete with AI support. There’s the 64MP main shooter with 4-in-1 pixel binning to output 16MP photos. While the secondary cameras are comprised of an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro and 2MP depth.

The camera app has Night Mode, Portrait Mode with AI Beauty effects, Pro Mode, Aperture Mode, Light Painting, Super Macro, Dual-View, Slo-Mo, and more.

For selfies, a 16MP front camara house in the punch hole cutout on the upper left of the display. It’s has AI Beautification, which does a good job of smoothening skin textures, and 3D Qmoji, which add a bit of fun to your selfies.

In addition to stills, the Nova 7 SE is also a capable video camera. It can shoot up to 4K at 30fps with decent stabilization that helps reduce shakes. And there’s the Dual Mode that allows you to record from the front and back cameras.

5. The satisfying performance

The Nova 7 SE 5G is all about performance. It is a combination of both the hardware and the software, with everything else in the middle, that work together to give users that satisfying performance that punches way beyond its price.

EMUI is one of the best looking and best performing Android-based operating systems. Through the years, it has matured and has been streamlined and upgraded for maximum efficiency. It is well-thought out and practical.

In addition, since EMUI 10 and above, it has also become one of the smoothest OS.

Huawei AppGallery

The AppGallery has also improved leaps and bounds. It is now the third largest app store, next to the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, boasting over 400 million users, over 50,000 apps, in over 170 countries.

And recently, Huawei has added a new feature called Petal Search Widget, a powerful search engine that not only offers information, news, and other media, but also a way to find and install apps that are not yet of the AppGallery.

Closing Remarks

Truth be told, there are many more reasons why the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G is the best 5G smartphone right now. But these five, I feel, are what sets it apart from its rivals in the midrange smartphone segment.

The Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G is now available in the Philippines for PHP 17,999. This is value-for-money. You are not losing out on this one.
