MediaTek announces Dimensity 7050 chip: Supports 200MP cameras, better performance

It is similar to the Dimensity 1080 with some minor differences.

MediaTek has recently announced the Dimensity 7050. This new chipset is aimed at powering mid-range 5G smartphones with high performance and efficiency. It is also similar to the Dimensity 1080 chip that launched last year, but with some minor differences.

Built with the 6nm process technology, the Dimensity 7050 chipset features two high-performance 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 cores and six power-efficient 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores.

It also includes a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, supports LPDDR5/4x memory and UFS 3.1/2.1 storage standards, and can handle up to 200MP camera sensors with 4K video recording at 30FPS. It is also capable of supporting up to 2520×1080 resolution displays with a 120Hz refresh rate.

In addition to its powerful performance, the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset also boasts dual SIM 5G connectivity with support for both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes, as well as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and other wireless technologies.

The realme 11 series is expected to debut the new chipset soon, with the Lava Agni 2 5G smartphone set to be the first device to use it. The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset is poised to give mid-range 5G smartphones a competitive edge in the market.
