Apple officially announced its latest flagship smartphones, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, and revealed its prices in the Philippines. The new devices boast a stunning design, a powerful processor, an advanced camera system, and the Dynamic Island notification system.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be available in five colors: black, blue, green, yellow, and pink. The devices have an aluminum frame with a color-infused glass back that is durable and resistant to scratches and fingerprints.
The front of the devices features a Super Retina XDR OLED display with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and up to 2000 nits of peak brightness. The display also has a Dynamic Island, a redesigned notch at the top of the screen that shows important alerts and live activities. Users can swipe or tap on the Dynamic Island to access directions, music controls, sports scores, and more.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are powered by the Apple A16 Bionic chip that debuted in the iPhone 14 Pro Series, which delivers fast and smooth performance for gaming, streaming, and multitasking. The devices also support 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, UWB Air Tags, and Face ID. The devices have a USB-C port that supports fast charging and data transfer.
The camera system of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is one of the most impressive features of the new devices. The devices have a dual-camera system that consists of a 48MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
The main camera has a sensor-shift optical image stabilization (OIS) that reduces blur and noise in low-light conditions. The main camera also enables super-high-resolution photos with a new 24MP default mode and a 48MP mode for more details.
The ultra-wide camera has a 120-degree field of view that captures more scenery in one shot. The devices also introduce the next generation of portraits with Focus and Depth Control, which allow users to adjust the focus and blur of the background and foreground after taking a photo.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus also have a 12MP front-facing camera that has autofocus and supports HDR and Cinematic mode. Cinematic mode is a new feature that lets users record videos with shallow depth of field and smooth transitions between subjects. Users can also change the focus point or level of blur during or after recording.
Another new feature of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is the Roadside Assistance via satellite. This feature uses Apple’s satellite infrastructure to connect users to AAA if they have car trouble while off the grid. Users can send an SOS message with their location and vehicle information to AAA using their iPhones.
