24 government agencies are now accessible on eGovPH App

Filipinos can now access services from 24 different government agencies through the eGovPH app, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The app streamlines government transactions, offering a one-stop shop for renewals, clearances, and applications. Services from major agencies like Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, SSS, GSIS, and PRC are now readily available.

The eGovPH app allows for “24/7 governance,” enabling Filipinos to transact with the government anytime, instead of being restricted to business hours. A significant feature is the integration of the national digital ID, accessible within the app. This aims to eliminate the need for physical cards, although Secretary Uy acknowledges the ongoing transition.

“Nag-uumpisa lang kasi tayo. So ang mga ahensiya ng gobyerno, ang mga establishments ay hindi pa sanay dahil sanay sila sa physical card eh. So, ngayon, dahan-dahan nating inu-orient sila para masanay sila na digital,” he said.

(We’re still in the early stages. Both government agencies and establishments are accustomed to physical cards. We’re orienting them to get used to digital IDs.)

The DICT is also actively coordinating with banks and other institutions to ensure wider acceptance of the digital IDs presented through the eGovPH app. This initiative reflects a broader effort to improve the Philippines’ connectivity infrastructure.

Uy also shared that the Philippines’ ranking in the United Nations International Telecommunications Union’s index has jumped by nine points, which signifies the impact of the government’s programs on national connectivity.
