TikTok gets another 75 days before possible US ban

TikTok has received another 75 days before facing a possible ban in the United States. US President Donald Trump announced the news on Truth Social. This is the second time the app has been given an extra life.

On January 19, the app briefly went offline in the US as the deadline arrived. Surprisingly, it came back online just 12 hours later. On January 22, TikTok was given a 75-day extension to avoid being banned.

This new extension is good news for TikTok users in the US, but the app’s future is still unclear. The law behind the potential ban requires ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, to sell its US operations to an American company. If they fail to do so, TikTok could be banned permanently. Companies like Amazon have shown interest in buying TikTok, but no deal has been finalized yet.

For now, TikTok users in the US can continue to enjoy the app. However, questions about its long-term future remain, as concerns about data privacy and security continue to fuel the debate.
