MediaTek unveils Dimensity 9400e flagship chip

The flagship chipset features advanced AI, gaming enhancements, and next-gen connectivity.

MediaTek has officially launched its latest flagship mobile chipset, the Dimensity 9400e, designed to deliver top-tier performance, energy efficiency, and advanced AI capabilities.

The Dimensity 9400e is built on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process, which features an All Big Core architecture with four Cortex-X4 super cores, clocked up to 3.4GHz; four Cortex-A720 big cores, running at 2.0GHz; and a 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPU, supporting hardware-level mobile ray tracing.

For gaming, the chipset integrates MediaTek HyperEngine technology for smooth, low-latency gaming experiences. It also supports MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology (MAGT 2.0) for real-time performance optimization and MediaTek Frame Rate Converter (MFRC 2.0+), which reduces power consumption by up to 40% when enabled.

The Dimensity 9400e also includes the latest MediaTek NeuroPilot SDK for on-device AI tasks and generative AI applications. It supports mainstream large and small language models as well, including DeepSeek-R1-Distill, Gemini Nano with Multimodality, and LLaVA-1.5 7B.

For imaging, the chipset features an 18-bit RAW ISP, enabling AI-powered semantic segmentation video engines with 16-layer image analysis and advanced noise reduction for enhanced recordings.

Other key features of the Dimensity 9400e, include:

    • Bluetooth range up to 5km within line of sight
    • Sub-6GHz four-carrier aggregation (4CC-CA) with download speeds reaching 7Gbps
    • Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency (5 data streams) for peak transmission speeds of 7.3Gbps
    • MediaTek 5G UltraSave 3.0 for improved power efficiency
    • Multi-mode dual-SIM dual-active functionality

The first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9400e are expected to debut later this month. Stay tuned for more updates.
