Student Beep Cards with 50% fare discount available starting September 15

Apply with school ID at select train stations.

Students in the Philippines can start using personalized Beep cards with a 50% fare discount on trains beginning September 15. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced the program to help students save money and travel more easily.

To get the card, students need to show a valid school ID or registration form. The card will be printed on the spot at designated stations. It’s valid for one year and can be renewed every school year.

The discount applies to train systems that use beep cards, including LRT and MRT lines. The DOTr said the goal is to support students who rely on public transport. They also advised students to apply early to avoid long lines.
