After years of waiting, Spotify has started rolling out lossless audio to Premium subscribers in more than 50 countries. The feature allows users to stream music in FLAC format at up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz quality. This means listeners can now hear songs with more detail and clarity than before.
Lossless audio is available on mobile, desktop, and tablet apps. It also works with many Spotify Connect devices, including brands like Sony, Bose, and Samsung. Support for Sonos and Amazon devices is expected next month.
Users can choose the audio quality they prefer for Wi-Fi, cellular, and downloads. The new “Lossless” option joins existing tiers Low, Normal, High, and Very High.
To enable it, go to Settings & Privacy> Media Quality in the app. Lossless must be turned on separately for each device.

Spotify recommends using wired headphones or speakers for the best experience. Bluetooth connections may compress the audio, which reduces quality. Because lossless files are larger, it may take a few seconds for songs to start playing.

The rollout is happening gradually. Users will get a notification in the app when the feature becomes available to them. Countries like the US, UK, Japan, Germany, and Australia are among the first to receive access.
Spotify Premium plans in the Philippines start at ₱169 per month for individuals.
