MediaTek launches Dimensity 9500 chip for flagship phones

Coming to flagship phones in late 2025.

MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9500. Designed for high-end 5G smartphones, this new mobile SoC brings better performance, smarter AI, and longer battery life.

The chip features a new CPU setup with one ultra core running at 4.21GHz, plus seven other cores. This gives it up to 29% better single-core speed and 16% better multi-core performance than the last version. It also uses less power, which helps phones last longer on a single charge.

For gaming, the Dimensity 9500 includes the Arm G1-Ultra GPU. It boosts graphics performance by 33% and improves power efficiency by 42%. It supports features like 120FPS frame interpolation and console-level raytracing.

AI is a big focus. The chip includes MediaTek’s ninth-generation NPU 990 and Generative AI Engine 2.0. It can run large language models with 3 billion parameters and generate 4K images. It also supports long text processing and uses less power for always-on AI tasks.

The chip improves camera features, as well. It supports up to 200MP photos and 4K 60FPS portrait video. It also helps with faster focusing and better image processing.

Phones with the Dimensity 9500 are expected to launch in late 2025.
