Google Doodle celebrates PAC-MAN’s 45th anniversary

PAC-MAN turns 45 with a Halloween-themed Google Doodle game.

Google is celebrating PAC-MAN’s 45th anniversary with a special Halloween-themed Doodle game. It’s available on the Google homepage on October 30 and 31, 2025.

The game has eight levels, including four haunted mazes made with Bandai Namco Entertainment. Each maze is based on one of PAC-MAN’s famous ghosts: Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde.

Players guide PAC-MAN through the maze to eat all the dots while avoiding the ghosts. Power Pellets give PAC-MAN a short chance to chase the ghosts instead.

The game mixes classic arcade gameplay with a Halloween twist. It’s easy to play and works on both desktop and mobile browsers.

PAC-MAN was first released in 1980 and quickly became one of the world’s most popular arcade games. Its simple design and fun characters helped shape early video game culture.

This isn’t the first time PAC-MAN has appeared in a Google Doodle. In 2010, Google made a playable version for the game’s 30th anniversary.
