Google launches Gemini 3 in Search with AI Mode

It adds advanced reasoning, better results, and interactive tools for complex queries.

Google has rolled out Gemini 3 into Google Search. The launch starts with AI Mode, making this the first time a Gemini model has been available in Search from day one.

Gemini 3 is built to handle harder questions. It uses stronger reasoning and can understand text, visuals, and context together. This helps Search pick up on the intent behind a query and return results that feel more precise and useful.

The model also improves how Search scans the web. By expanding its reach, it can find more credible sources and highlight content that might have been missed before. Google says this will give users clearer answers and better coverage of complex topics.

Another key update is the new generative interface. Instead of only showing text, Search can now create layouts with images, tables, and even interactive tools. For example, a science query could generate a simulation of the three-body problem. A financial search might produce a loan calculator you can use directly in the results.

At launch, Gemini 3 Pro is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US. Wider access is expected soon, with higher limits for paying users.

Google also plans to refine automatic model selection so that tougher questions are routed to Gemini 3, while simpler ones are handled by faster models.
