Apple is reportedly skipping the iPhone 18 this year. According to several reports, the company is changing its usual annual launch cycle, marking the first time in over a decade that a standard iPhone won’t arrive within the year.
Instead, the iPhone 18 is expected to launch in March or April 2027, leaving the iPhone 17 as the mainline model for about 18 months. Apple is said to be adjusting its release schedule to spread launches more evenly.
High-end devices like the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone are rumored to drop in September or October 2026, while the regular iPhone 18 will come later.
This staggered approach could help Apple manage supply chains, avoid production bottlenecks, and balance sales across different quarters. By late 2026, Apple’s lineup might include at least eight iPhone models, ranging from older units like the iPhone 16 to new premium and foldable devices.
